Soulbound

Episode three - We find a cup of tea, We are served a cup of death, Death, anyone? Shall I continue?

Scene 1 -

(Vy slowly wakes up to “put out” fire, Optic isn’t there :O!!! Oh w8 nevermind he just came around the corner w/ some sort of nasty thing in his paws.)

Optic - “Breakfast.”

Vy - “...”

Optic - ?

Vy - “no thanks..”

*grabs stuff out of her bad to eat, but oh no a rodent runs out of the bad and all her food is gone RIP*

Vy - “?! HEY!” *dumps bag* “It ate all of my food!!”

Creature - *burp* Scurries off →

Optic - (cooking the weird thing over the fire (comical)

Optic - “Shame.”

Vy - (defeated sigh, goes by the fire)

“........”

Optic - “You sure you don’t want some, Ducky?” *chuckle*

Vy - “eh..” (skeptical)

Optic - (takes it off fire, looks better) “Don’t hate it till you try it.

Vy - *stares at it, glances at optic who is eating, and looks at it again*

Vy - *takes a bite* (it’s actually very good)

Bla bla bla next scene

Scene 2 -

Topaz - (wakes up slowly) *gasp!* (the goggles) *runs outside*

“Vy!!”

(fade, AKa it’s been awhile)

Viko - “Sir we’ve searched all along the borders.. There’s just no trace of her.”

Topaz - (hunched in on himself, facing away)

Viko - “..all of the troops; they came back with no luck.”

Topaz - (stands up taller) “Then send more.”

Viko - “but.. We have other things to prepare for. The village needs to be ready to leave-”

Topaz - (turns around sharply) “Search the eastern side again! Check every place twice! Go to the librarian, ask him if he’s seen her!”

Viko - “But sir..!”

Topaz - (desperately) “She’s got to be somewhere, Viko! I need to find her! PLEASE! I NEED MY DAUGHTER BACK!”

Viko - (Large pause) “...of course.” (walks away, goes to a group of people and starts talking)

Topaz - (turns around, ears droop, holding a family photo?) *choked sob*

“What have I done.”

Scene 3 -

Vy and Optic - (packing things up)

Vy - “So… what now?”

Optic - “You’re going home, that’s what.” (starts walking off)

Vy - (runs in front of him) “I’m not going back!”

Optic - “What? You in trouble or something?” (plainly, somewhat sarcastic)

“Because from the schpeal you gave me last night, I assumed you and your father were close.” (raises browl)

Vy - “We are..! (quietly) “..well we were..” (shakes head, masks previous thought) “I can’t go back! Not not yet at least..”

Optic - “why?”

Vy - “...” “....I’m ...looking for something.”

Optic - “you’re ..looking for something.” (statement)

Vy - “yes..”

Optic - “Care to elaborate?” (sarcastic tone)

Vy - “Since when is it any of your business?” (defensive)

Optic - “I’m just slightly concerned. You couldn’t have been in these woods for more than 24 hours and you already almost got eaten.”

Vy - (eyeroll) “I can take care of myself” (starts to walk off)

Optic - “Well if you’re gonna die anyways, can you at least give me that compass?”

Vy - (stops, turns around slowly)

Optic - (staring at her with one eye raised)

Vy - (slowly walks back - catching on - FINALLY!) “Why do you want it..?” (stares at him like sherlock stares at dead bodies)

Optic - (fidgets slightly) “Uh..”

Vy - (still staring)

Optic - “Ok.. fair question” (walks closer) “I’m trying to.. acquire.. a certain something hidden in these woods too”

Vy - “But why would you need my necklace?”

Optic - (heavy sigh - takes out slip of paper) “Because, that ‘necklace’ .. it matches this (resignedly)”

(paper is placed down, drawing of the compass is shown)

Vy - *GASP* “That.. Thats.. “

Optic - “Yeah. Guess I’m lucky I found you.”

Vy - “Is this the .. (quoting him) something … you are searching for?” (holds her compass on her neck protectively)

Optic - “No. If you’re wearing that something that would mean my easter egg hunt is over ya? .. It leads to what I’m looking for.”

Vy - (suddenly intrigued, stares at the compass and back up at him) “What does it lead to?”

Optic - “.. It leads to.. (sighs) .. It leads to”

TOGETHER: (VY AND OPTIC) “The water element” *stares at each other*

Optic - (first one to speak) “What?!”

Vy - “THIS IS WONDERFUL! We can look for it together!”

Optic - “No way! I’m not going to drag you along with me”

Vy - “Drag me along?”

Optic - “Yeah. You probably haven’t walked more than a mile in your whole life.”

Vy - “I have the compass, you know the woods. We both have what the other needs. A bit of a quid pro quo wouldn’t you say?” (smilingly)

Optic - “Not happening” (stares at her authoritatively)

Vy - (pause - smiles to herself) “Well.. (with false concern) Good luck to you then, Optic. It would be a miracle if you found the missing element without this compass (chuckles) Oooh well!” (continues to walk)

Optic - (watching her trot away) *eye twitch*

Vy - “You coming?” (doesn’t wait for response, continues walking around the corner)

Optic - *annoyed sound* “Dirty, rotten, spoiled Oxygen waster” (mumbling)

(looks back where she disappeared around the corner……. ) .. “Dumb duck.” (runs to the corner, turns it and almost runs into her -> she was waiting)

Vy - “There you are! I thought I’d have to wait a few more minutes for you to push your pride aside.” (laughs warmly)

Optic - *grumbling*

Vy - “Let’s go!” (confidence restored)

Optic - (walks slumped, still pouting, right behind her)

Vy - (starts walking confidently - Optic behind her - MUSIC STOPS )

Scene 4 -

Scene switches to the characters later in the day; Vy’s confidence flickering a little because she’s tired - Optic looks exactly the same, still grumpy.

Vy - (breathing heavily)

Optic - “You give up yet?”

Vy - (glares at him - heavy breathing stops)

Optic - (quietly) “worth a try..”

Vy - (hears a twig snap or something - ears up, ALERT)

Optic - (doesn’t have as good hearing) “What’s wrong? You need protection from the big scary leaf? Disney reference: from the tree? OOOooh a tree; scary tree! - from Cuzco

Vy - (not paying attention to him, eyes lost) “I heard something”

Optic - (slowly walks towards her, sniffs - suddenly very alert) “CRAPES!”

Vy - “Crapes?”

Optic - “It’s coming, we need to move!”

Vy - (humorously) “Last I checked, we eat the crapes, not the other way around.. (suddenly dawns on her) OOOHH.. Wait, how is it following us so deep in the woods??!”

Optic - “Why don’t you stay around and ask it? (Sterly and sarcastically)

Vy - (Glare)

Optic - (another deep sniff) “It’s about ten minutes out, we need to find a way to lose it!”

(Vy and Optic start running, thicket crunching under their paws - gasping for breath - OH NO @ insert cliff, watcha gonna do now? - breathing heavily, bushes start rustling)

Optic - “We’re trapped!”

(bushes continue rustling, Optic moves in front of Vy and crouches - cause we need to encourage shippers ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Vy - (thinking he wanted her to jump on his back so he could fly them to safety) “Ah! Great idea!” (Turns him around - suddenly) “Get your wings ready!!”

Optic - “What?” (confused)

(Oh, too late. Optic, Vy has shoved you off the cliff and jumped on your back. - that’s why she doesn’t get hurt)

(small thing jumps out of the thicket because dramatic irony)

Optic - “I CAN’T FLY!” (screetches)

Vy - ???!??!?!?! “ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????!”

(both fall, hit rocks and dirt painfully land in a heap at the bottom)

Optic - (Groans, gets up slowly, Vy isn’t hurt) “Did you break out of the mental asylum?? You are a CRAZY woman! What is wrong with you???”

Vy - “I thought I was a little child.. My my my, how I’ve grown!”

Optic - “Is this normal for you?! Shoving people off cliffs??! I’d rather keep my blood inside my body where it belongs!”

Vy - “Sooooo…. You have wings, but you can’t fly..” (thoughtfully… than laughingly) “So you’re like a chicken!” (OOOOHHH! What if that’s his new nickname. Ducky and Chicken - ship name = Chucky! Oooo la la!)

Optic - (puts head back in the dirt (groans))

(Witch enters)

Witch - “Oh my!”

Optic & Vy - !!!

Witch - (kindly) “You poor souls! You look absolutely exhausted”

Vy - “uhhh..”

Witch - “Come with me and I’ll get you a spot of tea and a bite to eat!”

Optic - … (doesn’t trust her)

Vy - (Pause) “Who are you?”

Witch - “Just a local harvester!” (happily) “Now come! You both must be famished!”

(Vy slowly gets up to follow her and Optic grabs her paw to stop her)

Optic - “What are you doing? We don’t know this cat”

Vy - “She seems kind enough.”

Optic - “I don’t like the looks of her. Something’s off…”

Vy - “You don’t like anyone (chuckles). Besides, she said she has provisions”

Optic - (huff) “That too. Who gives out food? There are NO free handouts.”

Vy - “You’ll be surprised, some people are actually kind.”

Optic - “Really? (fake interest) Haven’t met one yet.”

Vy - “Oh come one! She’s a sweet lady! What’s the worst she could do?”

Optic - (not convinced)

Witch - (rounds the corner, calling to them happily) “Did you get lost? It’s this way dears! OOH! I can show you my teacup collection!” (rounds back around the corner)

Vy - (turns to Optic) “Oh Yea. She’s ferocious.”

Optic - …………………………….

Vy walks towards the corner and turns her head

Vy - (humorously) “Is somebody chicken?”

Optic - (gruff annoyed sound)

Scene 5 -

(Optic, Vy , & witch walking outside her home to the door. Various crops/things outside)

Witch - “Here we are!” :) “Welcome!” (disappears through door)

*both hesitate*

Witch - (pops head back out) (warmingly) “Don’t be shy! Come in, Come in!”

(Vy walks in fist, Optic reluctantly behind)

Witch - “Watch your step!”

(walking around random stuff)

Vy - (admiring the decorations) → (sees the bird in cage)

Witch - “Ah! That’s Percius! (Percy-us) He won’t bite.”

Vy - *staring* “He’s gorgeous”

Optic - (tensely standing farther away - accusingly) “What exactly do you harvest here.”

Witch - (happily) “Strawberries!”

Vy - “Strawberries?” (walks over to Optic, witch leads them to table in center of room)

Witch - “Yes! I know, it’s a weird job.”

Optic - (mumbling to Vy) “That’s not the only weird thing here.”

Vy - (shushes him) “This is Optic, and i’m Vy.”

Witch - “You can call me Bavmorda! Tea anyone?” (puts pot of tea on table and pours it in cups)

Optic - (staring at it suspiciously)

Vy - “Thank you!” (Glances over to Optic who is still staring at the tea. Rolls eyes, moves to drink it)

Bavmorda - (too loudly) “Wait!”

Vy & Optic - (staring at her weirdly)

Bavmorda - *clears throat* (realizes she didn’t come off as casual LOL) … “It isn’t any good without cream or sugar! Give me one moment!” (walks to shelf filled with bottles) “So, what are you two doing out in the woods anyway? I rarely see travelers come this far.” (Making small talk, trying to distract them)

Vy - “Well, we are looking for-”

Optic - (cuts her off) “Just passing through.”

Bavmorda - “Of course! I’m happy I found you.” (pouring cream and sugar, back facing them.)

Optic - (warmingly) “You’re glad you found us?”

Bavmorda - “Yes! I jump at the chance to help travelers that come by this way!” (fake embarrassment) “I uh … don’t get much company.” (while she is talking through this, she grabs a bottle with a death sign on it and pours the liquid in the cream - resignedly) “There we go! Just wait till you try my famous creme!” (carries tray back over)

(Optic watches as she pours a generous amount of cream in both cups)

Optic - “You’re not drinking any?”

Bavmorda - “Had a cup this morning.” (Voice becoming less gentle)

Optic - *stares at the tea*

Bavmorda - (impatiently) “go on, take a sip!” >:( (rudely) (...pause….clears throat, softer and kinder) “..it’s getting cold”

(Vy finally starting to realize something is off - btw. They both watch her tensely)

Vy - “..uh..” (everything looks more threatening, mood changes)

Optic - “Thank you for your hospitality, but we should really be leaving.”

Vy - “Yeah… uh…” (not good under pressure)

Optic - (Vy is frozen) “It’s getting dark!” (to Vy to get her moving)

Vy - (again) “...uh..yeah..”

(Optic & Vy turn to the door to leave, facing away from Bavmorda)

Bavmorda - “You can’t leave!” Figure out a way -> (eyes start glowing blue in anger) It’s… it’s too dark out! (defensive) (voice slips back into calm) “I could never let you poor dears outside in the Wadjit at night!”

Optic - (rudely, turned around) “No it’s not, its hardly dark out you… (Turns around from facing door, see’s her glowing eyes, caldren etc) ..WITCH?!” <- aware now

Bavmorda - *hissing*

[Optional: if I can edit this, Bavmorda’s voice changes through editing to sound deeper and creepier] Also, i’d like her eyes to start glowing blue.

Bavmorda - “I want that compass, darling.” (sweetly, singsong, evvvil)

(Vy tenses up)

Bavmorda - (creepily) “Here, kitty kitty kitty.” (moves towards Vy)

Optic -(moves in front of her) “Stay back”)

(Bavmorda is still chuckling)

Optic - (shuffles over to the shelf, grabs a random bottle - raving and hissing) “STAY. BACK!”

Bavmorda - (startled )“!! Put that down, it’s not a toy!” (Nervous but, still angry) (Grabs ice sword by the wall, Lunges at Optic) (kicking and biting each other - small fight,she pushes him to the floor)

Bavmorda (creepy whisper) “Wrong move, heh.. I win.”

Vy - (rams into Bavmorda - pins her down, witch screeching - with a lot of effort) “Optic! The shelf!!”

(Optic hauls himself up, runs to the shelf - *Shelf falls, Vy jumps out of the way, witch covered in shattered liquid*

Vy - “Come on!”

(Vy & Optic run out, Optic is limping) → (takes Bavmorda’s ice knife with him) (witch shrieking like a dying cow ;) → (they run into the thicket, gasping for breath)

Cutback to Bavmorda, bottle falls front of her face, bad label, she stops struggling in horror as it slowly falls and the liquid drips out)

Bavmorda - “Oh no..” (defeated, shOOTH :)))

Cutback to Vy and optic

*explosion sound behind them* (dat witch don got fried SON) (random peices come flying at them, Maybe a featherless Percius comes by squaking like a deranged chicken, humorous) Stop breathing, look at each other)

Vy starts giggling - Optic, looks at her weirdly as she starts laughing louder - Optic snorts as she continues)

Vy - “That .. was the coolest thing I have ever done.”

Optic - “Come on, let’s go.” (Rolls eyes, chuckles)

Vy - “Yeah.. Let’s go.”

Optic - (gets up, pained noise) *falls back down*

Vy - “!!Optic? What’s the matter?”

Optic - (gets up slowly, starts limping away, gruff noise)

Vy - “You’re hurt!” (concerned)

Optic - “No duh (FURLOCK). I’m fine. The witch just got a jab at me, that’s all.”

Vy - (takes bag off) “Wait! I brought first aid!”

Optic - (looks back) .. “.. later. We need to find shelter for the night.”

Vy - (runs after him) “Alright..at least let me help.” (Vy helps support him)

Optic - (Not used to people being kind to him) “Why are you doing this?”

Vy - “Because, you’re my friend. That’s what friends do!” (Chirpy, happy)

Optic - (significant look, they continue along)

INSERT MONSTER BY CLIFF

Scene 6 -

Optic and Vy by the fire (Optic’s leg wrapped up)

Vy - “How’s it feel?”

Optic - “Holding up nicely”

Vy - “Great!”

Optic - (takes out sword) “At least going to the witch’s hutt wasn’t a total loss.”

Vy - “Nice sword! Why’d you steal it?”

Optic - “We need a weapon.”

Vy - “..Right..”

Optic - (takes out folded map) “Now. We are here:” (points to spot on map) “and based on the map” (points on map) “We’re almost out of the deep woods. Hopefully when we reach “The Grey Moor” We’ll find water.”

Vy - “..And where there’s water…”

Optic - “The water element.”

Vy - (excited) “Wonderful!! I can’t wait!”

Optic - (lies down) “Try to get some sleep tonight. We need to walk quite a ways tomorrow.”

Vy - (takes Map) (shot ends with it zooming out as Vy stares at the map, fire crackling)
