Soulbound

Episode Four and five - A Spirit of the Moon gives us a piggyback ride.

Scene 1 -

(scene fades in, monster viewpoint, approaches sleep Optic and Vy, Eye alert, small spasms (excited) Grabs Vy violently)

Vy - *scream* “HellPPPPP!!!” (being dragged away)

Optic - (wakes) Grabs his sword, slices the monster (fight scene) drops Vy, (cowers)

Make it appear that Optic has the upperhand, monster falls on its side (suddenly starts to glow (it’s growing) Optic and Vy backing up cautiously)

(larger version of monster, more EYEBALLS >:3

Monster - ((ROOOOOAAAAARRRRR)) (poison splattering everywhere)

(Monster runs toward them, Optic frantically swipes up his sword in defences, Magic activities. Sparks (some magic) attacks monster through the sword, Monster (slimy) (falls and lays unmoving)

(with effort, Optic drops the glowing sword, magic stops, both breathing heavily)

Vy - How.. how did you do that?

Optic - (spooked, looks at sword) *whispers* “I don’t know..”

(sword laying on ground innocently)

Vy - (looking at the monster in fear) “Is it dead?” O-O

(Optic grabs sword off the ground, cautiously approaches monster)

*poke* *poke* (slime noises)

Optic - “I think so.. Let’s get out of here..”

(they leave hurriedly, camera focus on the monster laying stull, pan of the poison.)

Scene 2 -

(still somewhat dark out, Optic and Vy in the forest, see a Larimar. (Lar-y-mar)

(quietly creep up to it, looking at it through the bushes, peaking out at it)

Vy - “What is that?” (whispering)

Optic - Larimars. They’re extremely rare, I can’t believe we found one! It is said the creatures are born from the light of the bluemoon, which comes once each hundred years.

Vy - “Cool!! Let's catch it!”

Optic - “what? No-”

Vy - (runs out of their hiding place, screeching like a mad-man, jumps on its back.)

Creature - Throws her off, turns around, looking threatening (Vy on ground) Jumps on her and… starts licking her

Vy - “Hey! Stop ewww!! (laughing) creature continues playfully

Optic - (creeps out from behind the bush) “Uhhhhh..”

Vy - (petting it) “Awww… he’s such a cute lil’ guy! ツ

Optic - “It’s eyeball is the side of my head!”

Vy - “Who’s a good boy? Who is? (more giggling, beast wags tail)

Optic - (sternly) “Larimars are THOUSANDS of years old, they are extremely rare and dangerous!”

Vy - “Oh, he’s nothing but a big cutie!”

[beast purrs]

Creature - (Big sloppy kiss on half of Optic (humorous)

Optic - (dripping with slobber) “Seriously.” (shakes off)

Vy - “I think i’ll call you… MuffinTop!”

[beast continues to jump happily, accidentally steps on something, flattening it]

Vy - (giggling)

Optic - “Oh no. Absolutely NOT. No naming it, or else you’ll get attached to it!”

Vy - “But he likes me!”

Optic - “Look at it! He only ‘‘likes you’’ (mocking) because he’s imagining what you'd look like served to him on a platter! Moon spirits rent pet material. Just- UGH!” (reaches for a bug) “Here. Here’s a pet. Now can we leave before I turn into his appetizer??”

Vy - (examining it) “Look! It could help us reach the element faster! Would you like to help us, boy?”

[Creature gets excited, jumps around and slides Vy on its back, Vy laughing happily]

Optic - “RIDE it?”

Vy - “yeah! C'mon!”

Optic - “So it can take me to its nest and feed me to its creepy babies? No thanks.”

[beast approaching]

Optic - (laughter turns nervous) “Please tell me that was just a really bad joke.”

(Vy and beast approaching playfully)

Optic - “You can’t be serious.. Have you gone INSANE????!”

Vy - (points to Optic) “Go fetch!”

(beast roars happily)

Optic - *screech* (runs around clearing in a circle)

Creature grabs him with its feet, jumps in the ground and flies, Optic screaming.

Vy - “All aboard! Toot Toot!! Next stop, the water element!”

Optic - “VY! GER ME DOWN FROM HERE!!”

Vy - (laughing) “I’m telling you, this is fate. Plus, why are you complaining? You’ve got first class seating down there! The view must be fantastic!”

Optic - (more screaming insults)

(beast flips in the air, Optic lands on its back while screaming)

Optic - “In five seconds all I’m going to see it your neck in a chokehold!!”

(Creatures horn glows, disappears in a mist of smoke)

(appears again in the clay graveyard)

Vy - “Cool :D! What did we just do?”

Optic - (lurches off, seasick) “Something I never want to repeat again.”

Vy - (petting the creature, looks around) “Woah..”

(view of the castle)

Vy - “Hey Optic, where are we?”

Optic - (lurches up from the ground where he was sitting, dizzy) → “Just give me a second for my eyeballs to stop spinning!”

(looks intently at the castle)

Optic - “Oh. I recognize this place. “

Vy - “Really! Where are we?”

Optic - “in the middle of NOWHERE THAT’S WHERE. (turns on the creature) How am I supposed to know where this thing decided to abduct us??”

Vy - (talking while beast in the background keeps nudging Optic)

“Well then, there’s only one thing to do. That’s right! Exploring time! (sigh) Too bad I don’t have my goggles..”

Optic - (wrenches out of the creatures grip) “Your what?”

Vy - My goggles! I left them so my dad would know that I was the one who took the compass.”

Optic - “Ah, so you did steal it.”

Vy - “Excuse me? I’m not a thief! Plus, if I didn't bring it we would be hopelessly lost right now..” (looks at necklace) “It’s telling us to go….” (walks in circle, back and forth) ← reference

Optic - (sigh)

Vy - “..Thatta way!”

(points to castle)

Vy - “Com’on! Here MuffinTop!”

(beast stays where it is, wagging its tail)

Vy - “MuffinTop?”

(beast glows and disappears)

Vy - (shocked gasp) “....No!..” (crumbles to the ground in despair)

Optic - “Relaax. Spirit of the Moon, remember? They disappear at dawn.” (chuckle)

Vy - “He’s DEAD?!?!?!?!?!?” (horrified) “You CRUEL, HORRID!!!!” (starts slapping and hitting him)

Optic - “AHhHHH! He’ll come back at night!! Let’s just hope it finds something else to eat and doesn't come looking for us.”

Vy - “phew.. What a relief..” (calls to empty space) “See you later MuffinTop!” (picks up compass-looks at it) “Sooo.. this way.”

(walking through the ruins)

Vy - (admiring all of the shards) “Wow! Look at all this stuff!”

Optic - (blandly) “I know, what a dump.”

Vy - (rolls eyes, walks up to the front gate/door)

Vy - “Ok.. we don't know what’s in there so be prepare for a fight! Let me see your game face!”

Optic - (blank look)

Vy - “Great! ….Let’s do this thing.

3….

2….

1…..

“YARRRRR” *slams door open, rolls in stealth-like, attack position*

Optic - (walks in behind her normally)

Vy - (untenses) “Wow… (looks around) This place is totally abandoned!”

Optic - (words dripping with sarcasm) “Nice observation Nancy Drew. The only thing that would choose to live in this dried up skeleton is a family of rats… even then, they'd probably end up eating each other after they’ve cleared out all the insects.

Eerie whispers start, beckoning them forward

Optic - “Then again… maybe rats are a delicacy for some people…”

Vy - (scardely whispering) “What kind of people?” o_o

(insert magic trail, some relation to water indicating where they should go)

Vy - “look.. they want us to follow them.” (walks forward)

Optic - “They shouldn’t even be SAYING ANYTHING.”

Vy - “Comon’ Optic, do you want a more obvious signal? Perhaps a laminated sign with neon letters saying: Optic go this way!” (Walks forward) “... don't be a chicken Optic!” (Laughs)

Optic - “I don't know, it could be some trap.”

Vy - (continues following the whispers through the castle with Optic)

(They both find the hole in the ground, drips of water coming off of it)

Vy - “Optic!! Look! Look! Water!! :)

Optic - (walks up, jumps when My turns to go into the hole) “Wait! You can't just run in and-”

(Vy’s already down the hole)

Optic - (groan of frustration, cautiously follows)

Vy - “woah, look at all this treasure!” (Gold and jewelry scattered)

Optic - “I wonder why it's all just sitting here…”

Vy - “look at this!” (Puts on ridiculous amount of treasure, funny) “I’m like a pirate captain! ARR Maitie! Hoist the anchor and set sail for neverland!”

Optic - (knocks the treasure off her) “Vy, keep it down!

Vy - (huffs) How old do you think this place is anyway?

Optic - (frustratedly) I’m thinking it’s about as old as I’ll be by the time we finally find this lousy water element.

Vy - Why do you think this stuff is so clean and polished? I thought everything here was abandoned..

Optic - Looks like something doesn’t fancy rusted gold.

Vy - But it’s all just sitting here, like you said, this place is completely empty.

Optic - (whispering fiercely) Listen to me, with this amount of wealth all in one place, something has to have found it before us, and the last thing we should do is break into a dragon’s stash.

Vy - A dragon?

Optic - Yes! They can smell this type of stuff! And anything that owns this will make sure every single speck stays here.

Vy - But we’re not taking any of it.

Optic - Well if you don’t stop playing with it how’s it supposed to know that? Try not to touch anything… lets just find the element and Get. Outta. Here.

Vy - (dumps the stuff on the ground) “psh ,don’t be such a fun suck. A dragon? I’ve never seen one in my life.”

Optic - Look…. I have (clears throat) had… a bad experience with one so please just trust me on this.. (foreshadowing)

Vy - Ok, Ok. Don’t get your whiskers in a tangle.

(both walk deeper into the cavern, Optic getting more nervous)

(splits into two passageways)

Vy - Ok, lets split up. I’ll take the left, you take the right.

Optic - Split u-up? What if there’s a dragon close by, shouldn’t we -

Vy - Good GRIEF! Again with the dragons?

Optic - I’m just thinking rationally w-what (clears throat) what if there is one it might be safer to -

Vy - (more sympathetic) Hey, are you okay? You really are scared of them aren’t you?

Optic - (quietly) I’m not anymore scared than you are.

Vy - Okay.. but we can cover more ground this way.

Optic - (stubbornness) Fine. I’ll go this way. Meet me back here in fifteen minutes.

(Vy walks in the left tunnel, Optic walks in right, camera follows Vy)

(more whispers) Vy comes to a wall

Vy - (sighs) “dead end. bummer.”

(Vy looks down, water by the wall)

Vy - (surprised) “is this” (dips paw in) “Water?”

( - whispers start chanting something like ‘dive dive dive or ‘come, follow’ etc. Water glows blue, then goes back to normal. Hesitantly - takes a deep breath and dives in. Vy swims past the wall, surfaces. Gasping for breath. Walks out of water or platform. Compass starts glowing blue. Compass glows brighter, orb the same color, compass drags Vy to the orb.)

(Vy - surprised gasp. Both glow until the whole screen turns white - ear ringing noise. Insert memories (redeem the father - memories of the mother “Vy. Vy..”)

(Flash!)

Vy wakes (lying on the ground, orb beside her - compass changed)

Vy - Uggggh.

(Gets up, small scales on Vy)

Optic -( calls for Vy in the background)

Vy gets up, sees the orb on the ground, slips it in her bag, sips to her running down the hallway to Optic.

Vy - I’m coming, I’m coming.

Optic - Vy, you got to see this!

Vy runs out of the hole with him, to the castle clearing

Vy - It’s .. It’s raining! Optic we did it!

Optic - (laughing, then turns annoyed and shoves her) Where were you? It’s been almost half an hour!

Vy - I was preoccupied.

Optic - So you found the orb? Where is it?

Vy - It’s in my bag!

Optic - Say, did you happen to find and roast a fish from whatever puddle managed to get you that soaked? You look like you’ve got scaly stuff all over you.

Vy - I think I got charcoaled when I grabbed the orb heh!

Optic - Hmm.. Thank goodness you found it - blue doesn’t suit me.

(weird sound)

Vy - Hey.. . that looks like that freaky creatures venom!!

(bubbling, small snarls - growing)

Optic - It looks almost…

(small shrieking noise from venom)

Optic - ALIVE!!?!!!!!!??

(both focused cue the two hunters, Demetrius and someone else)

Demi - Hey! You!

Optic - We have company and they don’t look friendly..

Vy - What do we do? (whispers)

Optic - You grab the refreshments. I’m ouuta here!

(small chase, everyone leaves castle Demi and other hunter catch up)

(flash!)

Vy walks (lying on the ground, orb beside her - compass changed)

(grabs them both, throws them in portal)

Optic an Vy both yell

Demi pauses before going in the portal, looking at the rain, pauses to look at the bubbing door, jumps in the portal
